According to a new study published by Pegasystems, 82% of European consumers intend to exercise their new rights to limit or even delete their information stored Country Email List and used by companies. The new European regulations (GDPR) which will come into force in May 2018 will allow them to regain control of all their personal data: name, address, telephone number, but also purchases made, web pages visited and location in real time. It is up to companies to comply, otherwise they will incur penalties that could amount to several millions. Unfortunately, most, hampered by legacy IT systems operating in silos, are not able to effectively find all the locations where this data has been stored. So, while companies around the world reorganize their infrastructures as best they can before being bombarded with requests from their customers, some, like Gartner , are already predicting that more than half of them will not be ready on D-day.
